Fabric Loader (1.21.5, 1.20.1) is a lightweight and experimental modding framework for Minecraft Java Edition. Designed for speed and flexibility, Fabric has become one of the most popular platforms for mod developers, offering support for a wide range of Minecraft versions. It has been actively developed since before the release of Minecraft snapshot 18w49a, and officially introduced to the public in 2018—though the project originally began in 2016 as a hobby effort.
Unlike traditional modding platforms like Forge, Fabric focuses on providing minimal yet powerful tools for developers. It acts as the core mod loader for all Fabric-based mods, supplying essential infrastructure, hooks, and abstractions that enable mods to run independently and with high performance.
